Amy Yasbeck was born on the 12th of September 1962 in Cincinnati, Ohio. She is noted for her beautiful red hair, which she got from her Irish and Lebanese heritage. Her first commercial appearance was in the package of the Betty Crocker Easy Bake Oven for which years later she would be presented with another Easy Bake Oven on the television show I’ve Got A Secret.
Amy was a product of two Catholic schools, the Summit Country Day School where she spent her elementary and middle school and the Ursuline Academy where she finished her high school. After her parents died she then moved to New York.
She landed the role of Madison in Disney’s 1988 movie for television Splash, Too. Afterwards Amy starred in many television series and shows including Wings, Life on a Stick and Alright Already. For two years she was one of the main casts of the soap Days of Our Lives as Olivia Reed. She also did several films and appeared in several hits including Pretty Woman, The Mask, Dracula, Dead and Loving it and Robin Hood: Men in Tights.
In 1990, Amy met her would be husband John Ritter at the house of Problem Child director Dennis Dugan. She and John both starred in the sequel of Problem Child in 1991. Together they also guest starred in The Cosby Show that same year. In 1998 they had their first child Stella andmarried the following year. On the day before her 44th birthday and their daughter’s fifth birthday, John collapsed and died of aortic dissection on the set of his television comedy series 8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter. Following the death of her husband, Amy filed a lawsuit against the hospital where John was brought. She claimed that their misdiagnosis caused the eventual death of her husband John.
